In the new marketing year, Ukrainian exporters of rye began to develop new markets, such as the Philippines and Libya.
For July-October 2018, Ukrainian rye exports amounted to 62.5 thousand tons, which is the maximum volume for this period, informs UkrAgroConsult. By comparison, for the entire 2017/18 marketing year, 38.2 thousand tons of rye were exported from the country.
In October, Ukraine exported 14.7 thousand tons of rye, which is by 45.5% less than in the previous month (26.9 thousand tons), but twice as much as in October of the previous year (7.3 thousand tons) .
The main consumer of Ukrainian rye – the European Union, which accounted for more than 68% of the total export volume in the reporting period. During this period, the EU imported 42.5 thousand tons of rye versus 26.9 thousand tons for the whole 2017/18 MY
. It is noted that Israel will remain a stable market for imports in the current season of 2.9 thousand tons (4.6 thousand tons for the whole 2017/18 MY).
